Keyword Suggestion Tools

To find out how many times a keyword or keyword phrase in your target market was searched on last month is easy. All you do is use the free Overture Keyword Suggestion Tool

Just enter your chosen keyword or phrase and the tool will display the number of searches for a given month. It will also provide up to 99 other related words and phrases in a descending order of popularity.

Another free tool for getting ideas for new keywords that can help you improve your ad relevance is Google AdWords Keyword Suggestion Tool

This tool supplies more specific keywords, similar keywords and additional keywords for you to consider after you've entered your keyword or keyword phrase. You can also change the search criteria to find search trends and average cost per click for those words or phrases.

There are lots of Free Keyword Research tools out there where you can find out all kinds of information regarding your niche keywords, just do a search on Google for Keyword Research.

Wordtracker is one keyword research tool I have been using a lot until recently (more on this later). Its a service you have to pay for, however there is a Free Trial on offer.

You can have a play with it here Wordtracker Free Keyword Tool. It also finds all of those keywords and keyword phrases that relate to your business, product and/or service, similar to Googles product above, but it also tends to highlight others which you might never have considered.

On the front page, if you click on "more searches" there are listed the top 30 searches performed in the last 48 hours which is handy for brainstorming about a new topic, see here wordtracker.com. You can also enter your e-mail address and you will receive a free weekly report in your mail box for the top 500 searches performed every week.

Wordtracker is a paid for service as I mentioned earlier, but I find it superior to the free keyword tools available. It all depends how serious you are and of course your budget. You can sign up for the year if you're really serious or you can do what I do.

When I'm ready to start a new campaign I will sign up for 1 week. This costs me about $28.00 or £14.00, which I think is reasonable. 1 week gives me plenty of time to find lots of valuable niche keywords which I can save and work on in my spreadsheets.

I have researched 4 separate campaigns in 1 week before on Wordtracker but it was a bit intense. Like anything in this life, you get back what you put in.

An excellent alternative to Wordtracker which I have just found is
KeywordCountry. I will let you know how I go on with this in a later post.

Until Next Time

Johnathan
