An Overview of Clickbank

Clickbank is the most popular supplier of products for the Affiliate. It can be described as an on line warehouse stocked with around 10,000 products available for you to promote and sell with no initial outlay, and its free to join.

Clickbank is simple and easy to use. They handle all the electronic payments to both the Marketer and you, the Affiliate.

When signing up for your free Clickbank account you will be required to choose a nickname. Your nickname is your unique ID that allows Clickbank to accurately track and award the commissions you earn. Your nickname will now be used in all the Affiliate links, known as Hoplinks, that you create.

The section of Clickbank we are interested in is whats appropriately called the Marketplace

The Clickbank Marketplace

The Marketplace consists of nine main categories, each category has between eight and twelve sub categories to enable you to refine your search for the right product.

The nine main categories are as follows:

1. Business to Business
2. Health & Fitness
3. Home & Family
4. Computing & Internet
5. Money & Employment
6. Marketing & Ads
7. Fun & Entertainment
8. Sports & Recreation
9. Society & Culture

Before we go any further it would be a good idea to log on to Clickbank so the next section is easier to understand. You don't need to open an account to browse the store, so preferably, type in a new browser window, www.clickbank.com.

1. When the page loads. look to the top right of the screen and click on Marketplace.

2. Ignore the top search box and go to the lower box with the List of Categories.

3. Click on the green icon at the side of the category which closely resembles the area your chosen product might be listed. This opens up a refined set of search categories.

4. Again click on the area of interest for you.

5. You will now see a list of different products for you to promote, hopefully in the area of your interest.

Ok, if you don't see what you want, scroll down and you will see further pages you can search.

When you find a product of interest you can find out more about it by clicking on the View Pitch Page. This is the promotional sales page people will see when they click on your Hoplink should you choose to promote this product.
If you are happy with your choice you can proceed and click on the Create Hoplink and start promoting.. It might sound complicated, but it's not really. There is a comprehensive FAQ section should you get stuck.

The products are listed in a descending order of popularity, but this is not the only factor which should influence your decision.

There are some important things you need to learn about the information in the bottom line of each product listing, the green parts.

Basically they provide information on the cost of product, the percentage you receive for each sale, the percentage of total sales generated by affiliates and finally the popularity of the product amongst affiliates. The higher the Grav figure the more popular it is.

Some affiliates would rather promote popular figures as these are clearly in demand but you will have plenty of competition. Others promote lower Grav products with less competition.
