What is an Affilliate?

For the purpose of this discussion an Affiliate is a person who promotes a web business (Merchant), for which he or she is rewarded with a commission/payment for every visitor, subscriber, customer, and/or sale provided through his or her efforts

Payment is made based on a certain value, either fixed fee or percentage for each visit (known as Pay per Click), registrant (Pay per Lead), or sale (Pay per Sale) or any combination of these.

Why do Merchants use Affiliates?

Merchants like Affiliates because they are paid on performance which means the Merchants have no marketing expenses unless the Affiliate produces results.
Affiliates provide the Merchants with an extremely cost effective way of maximising exposure of their products or service.

Why become an Affiliate?

Its Free to sign up as an Affiliate
As an Affiliate you can work part time or full time depending on your circumstances.
It provides you with the opportunity to create a substantial residual income.
You can work at this alongside your regular job until you find your feet.
It makes you the owner of your own small business.

How do I become an Affiliate?

First you must decide which type of program you would like to promote. Think about your interests. Its a lot easier to promote a product or service you are interested in yourself.
Have you bought something recently that has an Affiliate program?....Not sure?.....Find out like this, just type in your browser the product or service you have bought followed by + affiliate.
Example : holidays+affiliate . Now press search.

You will see a list of Affiliate programmes available for Holidays.Try this with your chosen product.

If you can't decide on a product to promote try looking at some of the Affiliate Network sites like Clickbank . Its free to sign up as an Affiliate. Clickbank acts as a middle man between the Marketer and Affiliate. Here you will find around 10,000 products from all areas available to promote so there is something for everyone.

When you sign up you are given a unique code to copy and paste into your blog or web site so whenever someone clicks one of your adverts it is registered to your account. Everything is automated and Clickbank collect payment from the Marketer and deposit in your account. Depending on your earnings a cheque is usually sent to you on the 1st and 15th of each month.

You are able to track and monitor all your account activity and the statistics provide you with the tools to target your advertising effectively.

Retire In One Year Update #3

Hi,

Time for another update on the (RIOY) Retire in One Year Plan.

The building in the first Quick Income Program continues to build quickly. It is far exceeding the original estimated build of around 200 members per month.

To date (19 Jan 2008) i have a total of 449 paid members in my downline.

Remember I joined this business plan on 09th December 2007

In just 41 days I have had a total of 449 people placed under me, that's an average of 13 people joining this business every day and I have done nothing to build this except pay my subscription!

This is awesome!!

With 11 days to go to the end of January I can expect to have another 143 paid members in my downline at month end.

That will be a total of 337 members for January ( 592 since start date).

Each member allows me commission of $0.10, so I am well on the way to earning more than the $20 each month than originally forecast.

Remember each monthly payout is based on the number of paying members in your downline up to the cut off date of the 19th of every month.

Every month your paying members are added to the following months paying members. This is how your income grows month on month.

For example: Say month 1 you have 250 paying members, that's $25 commission.

Month 2 you have another 250 paying members that's another $25 plus the $25 for the previous month which totals $50 commission .

This goes on month on month.

The income from this 1 Quick Income Program will easily cover the cost of all 3 programs I am in within my third month.

The profits will then be used to enter further programs which should build me the $4000 per month residual income by my 13th month.

I can see this working, we have an excellent team build here.

Retire in One Year Update #2

Hi, time for another update on the RIOY system.

As of today 07/01/07 I have a total of 413 paid downline members in my first quick income program, and a further 197 people taking the tour.

Total paid members for December for me (from 09/12 to 31/12) is 315.

Total paid members so far in January 2008 is 62.

With the 197 prospects taking the tour it looks like I will easily break through the 200 average sign-ups per month as indicated by the program founders.

This program is picking up speed fast.

If the program keeps building at this rate, I calculate that by the end of March 2008 my out of pocket expenses for all three of the programs in this system will be covered and then its all profit :-)

Fingers crossed.

As in any business there are risks, especially on line. God knows I've had my fingers burnt a few times......... But I believe if you don't take a chance you never get anywhere so for now I'm sticking with this program.

Like someone said " If you stay in the middle of the road, you get run over". So I'm staying on this path and I will commit to the 1 year plan and see what happens.

What if it all goes tits up?........ well nothing ventured, nothing gained apart from perhaps saving you lost money if you haven't joined.

What if it's a success?............ I'll be kicking myself for not recommending it earlier!

Retire in One Year Update #1

Hi

Just a quick update on the RIOY program.

To date 27/12/2007, I have 260 paid members, and a further 120 prospects in my downline in one of the Quick Income programs of this money making system.

These have been supplied by the marketing system of my upline sponsors. I have NOT played an active part in promoting the system yet.

As I stressed in my earlier posts I will NOT recommend any program until I see proof it works, therefore I will not actively promote this until i receive some payment.

Its all very well having a list of names in your back office, but until payment is made, I will not put my name to it.

The cut off date for payment of the previous months signups is the 19th of every month.

The minimum payment threshold is $25.00.

For every member in my downline, not personally sponsored by myself, I will be paid $0.10, therefore I need 250 paying members to qualify for my first payment.

After a quick look at my stats I had 184 paying members for the cut off date of the 19th December. Which is not bad to say I didn't join until the 9th of December.

As I was not a member in November I am not due any payment this month anyway.

This is just one of the Quick Income programs of this system which is a new company, and looking at the stats for the previous 6 months, I am impressed with their growth.


To summarise : 260 signups in 19 days is impressive. The amount of signups every month for the past six months has increased. If this growth rate continues I expect to be in profit by the end of February 2008 (payout is on or around 25th of every month).

RIOY (Retire In One Year)

Hi everyone, sorry it's been a while since I've updated this blog. I had to shift some of my priorities around for a while as I was just running out of hours in the day to keep on top of things.


With those things back on track, I can now get back to updating on events. I almost feel guilty because nothing new has been added to the blog for a while :-)

Anyhow, recently I've been surfing the various forums on business opportunities and the problems people are having in generating an income in whatever business the're running.

In almost all cases the problem seems to be not enough people visiting there website/blog etc. or not converting the visitors into sales.

This is nothing new and this problem applies to me also.

So I got to thinking....what do we do?

We're told to build a list!

But we all know that.................... I'm sure you've heard the phrase

"The Money's In The List"

So, How do we build a list?

Oh, here we go ....Find a niche, build a capture page, use ppc to drive visitors to our site and get them to enter their details so we can e-mail them over and over with our products/ service etc .....yawn yawn.

This seems like hard work to me,

I've got to buy a domain name, create a web page, pay for hosting, pay for advertising to drive visitors to it,
pay for an autoresponder, create a load of pre sales letters to load into it to e-mail out to the prospects with the probability that if they don't end up in the junk mail folder they'll just be deleted anyway.


Now I don't know about you, but I figured there must be an easier way to generate an income without spending months and goodness knows how much money on pay per click etc.

So I got to thinking.....

What we need is someone who has an excellent product or three.

Someone who knows what they are doing and can generate tons of leads to their website.

Someone who can convert these leads into paying customers and generate a decent income.

Someone who is willing to let us invest a little money each month into there program and share this income with us.


I believe I've found that someone!


The program is called RIOY (Retire in one year)

But... Its early days and as usual I am NOT going to recommend anything until I see positive results.

I joined this program on 09/12/07 and the date as I write this is 17/12/07 and in 1 of the programs I already have 133 people signed up

This is in just over a week!.

Now if this stays on track, in 2 months I will have my monthly investment covered and I will be in profit every month

Rest assured I WILL tell the truth about this program. The owner makes big claims about the profits he expects to make for everyone involved.


I intend to use my experience in building this business (although it's not required, a passive approach can be adopted) to provide me a larger income more quickly.

Keyword Country – Reviewed

Using KeywordCountry for keyword research is far better than searching on Google or even Wordtracker. Although it is a little more expensive than Wordtracker it has some features that I think make it more valuable.


I have been using Keyword Country for three weeks now and decided to post as I think its an excellent product which is worth you having a look at.


Its very user friendly and each keyword you type in brings a huge amount of results with details like:

• Max CPC

• Number of Clicks per month


• Estimated EPC


• Number of competitors


• KEI Analysis


• R/S Ratio


• Number of Searches (according to Overture)


• Traffic on Google (estimated) …and much more!

Keyword Country allows you to search for keywords in 3 different ways via Basic Search, Advanced Search, and Price Range Search. The results are actually search specific, and enable you to choose the best keywords that suit your requirements.


I experimented with the keyword – “loan,” I just typed the keyword in BASIC Search and I got 21,086 relevant keywords within a few seconds, each with key details like Max CPC, Number of Advertisers, Number of Clicks per month, Estimated EPC, Number of competitors, KEI Analysis, R/S Ratio, Number of Searches (according to Overture), and Traffic on Google.


I was really impressed by the relevancy of the keywords that I found. However, the results become a bit irrelevant as you dig deep into the list (just like in any search engine). But, I must say that the results seem to have been sorted by humans, and not by software. It is more like stealing the keyword research from a professional SEO.


I had another option of choosing high paying keywords from 206 different sub-categories for the search term "Loan". I picked - Auto loan, and Keyword Country listed 1,257 keywords for the sub-category - Auto loan.


Price Range Searching is another cool feature Keyword country boasts. This search enables you to search for the keywords within a specific price range. One of the key advantages of this kind of a search is that it supplies lots of low priced, hidden keywords that are really profitable. These are excellent for brainstorming new ideas for AdSense as well.


Above all things, it is the Advanced Searching option that makes Keyword Country a bit special. I think these guys have really thought hard! They have come up with a tool that allows you to do in-depth research for each keyword. Offering a variety of searching options just like Wild Cards of Google, Advanced Searching can sort results on the basis of Max CPC, Average CPC, Searches, Sponsors, or anything else you like.


After watching the numerous Keyword Country videos, Advanced Search starts making a lot of sense and you really get the hang of the powers of KC’s Advanced Search tool.







Sort the results by “Rating,” and KC will give you only profitable keywords. Sort the results by “Clicks per month,” and you will get the keywords that attract the most clicks for Google. Just integrate these keywords in your website, and you will increase the chances of getting more CTR. Furthermore, there are many more types of keywords that you can find out with Keyword Country. This is the feature I think makes it worth the price.

If you are not yet using a paid keyword research tool, you will at some point realise the additional benefits and resources they provide. There are many such tools available at varying prices on the internet and they are all improving over time with additional features.

Although KeywordCountry is not the cheapest in terms of price on the market, I do believe it offers a range of features not available elsewhere. These offer you a considerable edge in your niche searches to place you ahead of your competition.
For this reason KeywordCountry is the tool I now use and I highly recommend the product to you.
